About Us

The company was founded by Howard B Lucas in 1945 and sold in 1969 to Alan Corrie. During his time at the helm, Alan created a quality stable of bluewater lures and accessories, in keeping with his passion for offshore fishing.


Alan’s son Alexander ‘Sandy’ Corrie bought the company in 1983, and grew the range to include a variety of well-known brands in the global tackle industry. He changed the name to ‘Tacspo’, which is short for ‘tackle and sport’, to reflect the company’s more comprehensive product range.

Sandy’s son Alex Corrie joined the company in warehouse management in 2005, and he has since worked his way up to become the operations manager. Alex now oversees manufacturing and promotions, and he also assists in the process of sourcing and testing new product.

Today Tacspo’s customer base includes buying groups and independent tackle and outdoors stores all around Australia. The company also exports a select range of product, with sales increasing each year.

Our search for high quality products and expansion of existing brands continues from around the world, every product in the Tacspo range is scrutinised to ensure it stands up to our harsh Australian conditions and punishing fishing methods.


Tacspo is also working to make life easier for its stockists. We are dedicated to providing a high level of customer service and stock on hand. We know it is important to move with the times and embrace new levels of communication, customer service and product sales support.

We are currently redeveloping the Tacspo website and its online ordering system will complement the friendly face from your area manager’s regular calls. This site is a handy way to find product information or place orders at any time of the day or night. Online orders will leave the same day where time allows.

Of course, you can still phone our head office during office hours. In response to customer feedback, the Tacspo team is currently redesigning their catalogue and price list to be more user-friendly, with straightforward pricing and helpful illustrations. It’s just one of the ways that Tacspo is working to make life easier for retailers.
